The 1960’s Movement “Hippies”

I chose to do my cultures project on the 1960’s hippie movement because I thought it was one of the most interesting sub/countercultures out there. The moment I heard the doors song “light my fire” I fell in love with the kind of music that they put out; I listened to other bands like The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and sometimes Jefferson Airplane and Pink Floyd. All throughout the years I have never found such a diverse, and hyper crowd that would bring enormous amounts of people and still no one would really get into big arguments. It was more of a movement than a style or a trend, the 1960’s counterculture was a lifestyle and a way of living though many people nowadays may not see it that way. The way people think of hippies in modern times is that they are always dirty, and high, and smelly, which they are but sometimes that’s not the complete description. Back then in the 1960’s there was a whole different world to see, different people, and different foods, and music. The whole vibe of the scene was mellow and good and happy according to what the crowds said in the books I read. The bands and the music had difference views on life, some writings were dark and morbid, some writing and music is usually happy but I like to listen to the dark music because its also another sub/counterculture within the sub/counterculture. In conclusion, that’s why I decided to do my project on this lifestyle, its because I love everything about it, everything is illuminated when you open your mind

severing at its best

we know you know we know you know we know you know.
to stand and uphold what is right,
is not always the effortless way.
gathered in homes watching as the liquid from our hearts evaporate.
grasping deep breathes inhaling, exhaling, inhaling..."its set on replay what the fuck?"
sitting down next to our materialistic gifts we shove aside whats really meant to happen during this time of year.
ghastly are the emotions that run within, drifting aloft to not better... but worse of use.
whats ignored whats ignored whats ignored?
the pen is the one who writes... but who writes the pen?
the car is the one that drives... but who drives the car?
reentering our home, our solitude, what is to be divine.
"replay dude, replay."

our project

he video game project is going by really slow actually.
but there is no actual due date, so i am not really in a rush to doing any imediate filming.
since i feel like i should be leader hahaha i will assign each partner with a part of filming they have to do.
i will be assigned to do the interviewing and i will also film some of the gameplay.
koop and chris will be assigned to whatever part they want to film, what they do is none of my concern. i know this project is supposed to be team based but i feel like i will work better alone, if any of my team mates need assistance i will be more than happy to help.
but, so far... we have no film, we CAN have pictures and we ARE able to show game trailers and gameplay on youtube and certain aspects of gaming.
that is all

march of the penguins

my personal view on this documentary was that it wasnt that great.
it shows the harsh life of the penguins but it didnt really interest me.
the documentary was also a feature film, meaning it was more than an hour and it want at all worth an hour of watching.
its like watching that movie deep water where two people float in the middle of the ocean for about two hours.
thats how i felt.
but other than the negative things im going to post.
the postitive things i WILL post is that you learn about the arctic and you learn more about the penguins and animal life that live there.
that is all
